We're partnering with a leading healthcare technology company to find a Senior UX Designer for a 6-month contract engagement. This full-time remote position (40 hrs/week) is open to candidates in EST/CST time zones, with preference for NYC-based professionals.
What You'll Do: Transform how patients interact with healthcare technology by designing consumer-focused digital experiences. You'll be responsible for crafting user-centered solutions that make healthcare more accessible, understandable, and engaging for everyday users navigating their wellness journey.
Your Impact:
Shape the strategic direction of our consumer health platform, emphasizing patient engagement, care coordination, and health management tools
Map comprehensive user journeys that span multiple healthcare touchpoints and patient interactions
Partner with clinical experts and product teams to ensure features align with both patient expectations and healthcare standards
Build welcoming digital experiences for users across all demographics and health literacy levels
Design clear, actionable health dashboards that help patients understand their wellness data and care recommendations
Structure complex healthcare information into digestible, compliant user interfaces
Architect digital experiences for telehealth consultations, wearable device integration, and secure health data management
Translate medical workflows into intuitive visual experiences that patients can easily navigate
Work alongside development teams to balance technical constraints with exceptional user experience
Create comprehensive support systems including help documentation, error handling, and patient education resources
Execute collaborative design processes with clinical, engineering, and patient advocacy teams
Deliver comprehensive design artifacts including wireframes, prototypes, and detailed user experience specifications
Participate in agile development cycles and contribute to continuous product improvement
Analyze user behavior and health outcomes data to refine and optimize patient experiences
What We're Looking For:
5+ years designing digital products for consumer audiences, ideally with healthcare or wellness experience
Portfolio demonstrating expertise in consumer product design, patient experience design, or health-focused applications
Background with healthcare regulations, patient privacy requirements, or medical device interfaces
Strong ability to communicate complex healthcare concepts through intuitive design solutions
Experience conducting user research with diverse patient populations and validating design approaches
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with modern design and prototyping platforms
Experience with user journey mapping, service design principles, and patient experience methodologies
Knowledge of healthcare APIs, electronic health records, or patient data platforms
Understanding of web accessibility standards and healthcare compliance requirements
Familiarity with health data standards, patient authentication systems, and medical device integration
This role involves handling sensitive patient information and requires adherence to strict healthcare privacy protocols.
